Hyperacoustic Tech
Electronic music built with the discipline of orchestration: every part is written and voiced like a composer's score, and the production is organized down to the bar.
Three rules
- Written, not looped. Parts are composed for instruments or instrument-like voices, not assembled from loops.
- Organized in layers. Every sound has a role in the arrangement, like a section of an orchestra.
- Tech as the instrument. The studio is played, not just used to finish the track.
What it is not
The word tech may make you expect techno or tech house. It is not either one. It names the studio as an instrument, and the writing as the point.
Where the word comes from
Hyperacoustic Tech is a genre named by Hayterwave, a composer. A genre only exists once other people use the word, so this page is a definition, not a claim of ownership.
